On every road trip there’s that one person that keeps every ticket stub, city map, and restaurant menu.

I am that person.

So, today’s tip is geared more towards the crafty traveler that wants to keep up with their precious little treasures along the way.

I mean, everyone has the intention of making a scrapbook when they get home from a great vacation.

Right?

Moving on…

Last year we took a family vacation down the southern coast.

Since I knew we were going to constantly be on the road, I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to keep up with all the mementos that I would, inevitably, pick up along the way.  I also knew that there would be some downtime during the trip, so I thought it would be neat to make the pages as I went.  Luckily,  I came across the perfect case that held all of my supplies and had plenty of room left over for souvenirs

8.5.14 - 2I love Smash Books!  They’re so much fun because they force me to not be so organized with my pages.  At the end of it, nothing really matches but somehow goes together perfectly.

8.5.14 - 3At the first chance I had, I sat down and started piecing together parts of our trip as we went.  Above you can see where we visited the Atlanta Botanical Garden, little notes about what happened, and tickets to the park.  Not every page is laid out this way, but you get the idea.

I will definitely take the case again on our next road trip.  I’m not sure how well it would work out on a flight, since it’s pretty good size, but it’s easy to carry with you in the car.  Hopefully we’ll have a chance to visit the beach with the fur babies this winter.  What a crazy fun album that would make!
