Just a Little Update

So…

I’m just going to skip over the fact that I’ve been MIA for four months.

**warning – even with skipping over a lot, I’m sure this will be a megapost so proceed with caution.**

Man, December seems like another lifetime at this point. So much has happened since the last time I posted. In true Jodi fashion I think the best way to bring everyone up to speed is through pictures. Here are some awesome things that have happened since we last met:

1.  The #1 spot doesn’t even pertain to weight loss/fitness (don’t worry, we’ll get there, be patient!)

Every year Cliff (you may remember him as The Husband) goes above and beyond for my birthday.

Even that proved to be an understatement this year.

First, let me preface with the fact that he had arranged with my boss for me to have a random Wednesday off work (unbeknowst to me until the eve of the big day).

The day started off with all my favorite traditions: breakfast at Wild Eggs, Build A Bear, and lunch at a new pizza place called Coal’s.  Then it was off to see The Hunger Games (we had the theatre all to ourselves!) and last, but not least,

An afternoon sitting in on sound check with Counting Crows, meeting them afterwards (complete with signed poster), and then going back to enjoy front row tickets to their show at the Palace.

Is that a graduation outfit? 😉

Fried macaroni and cheese balls? Um…do you really need to ask?

I am now convinced that seeing a movie at 12:30 on a Wednesday is the only way to go.

I couldn’t properly form words.

Best. Concert. Ever.

Yeah, that dude is basically the best.

And, since he knew I would be concerned about eating like crap all day, he had this delivered the next afternoon:

I have used this thing almost every day since he bought it. If anyone is thinking of getting a juicer/blender I highly recommend it!

**Awesome sidenote**

“Oh hai there, I’m just a Medium sized hoodie. Nothing to see here.”

2.  I finally broke into ONEderland! (And, even more importantly, we hit FIVE HUNDRED pounds lost!)

I have since gotten down to 193.

Look at that handsome face. It makes playing racquetball super difficult.

3.  I RAN my first mile (then 2 miles, 3 miles, 4 miles, and 5 miles!) without stopping.

I decided to join a running group at my local YMCA to try and help improve my running.  Luckily, I met some wonderful friends (two of which are in the pictures below) that showed me that not being able to run a mile without stopping was all in my head.  Whitney, (the one on the right below) has been by my side for each monumental mile since that first one.  I am so thankful to have met her and the rest of the group!

4.  Which led to running my first 5K.

Sarah, me, and Whitney at the end of the Anthem 5K.

5.  And then running (most) of my first 10K (yes, I will post race reports for both as soon as I’m able – just for you Janae!)

Sarah and I hamming it up while Whitney does her best to take a selfie and run at the same time. She’s way more brave than I am!

6.  We turned our home gym into a reality.

Cliff even wrote a program so that he can do the same circuit program that he did at Planet Fitness.

7.  I got a new tattoo.

My starting weight (for those that don't know). The backsplash is meant to represent The Color Run - my first 5K.

I had it done by my friend Kayla Yunt at IA Studios.  She’s an amazing artist!  Check out her Facebook page here.

8.  I got my Associate’s degree! (and started on my Bachelor’s)

With honors!

9.  I bought a size 16 14 12 dress and jeans!

10.  I cut off all my hair.

And almost immediately decided to grow it back out. I miss you Keanan!

I’m going to try and do better with the blog. However I am now pursuing my Bachelor’s degree, while working full time, training for my first half-marathon (oh – did I forget to mention that?  ;), and working on the last 30-40 pounds to my goal weight.

This is how I kicked off 2015, by signing up for my very first half-marathon at 12:01AM.

So, while I am a bit busy, I know that this is a time in my life that I most definitely want to remember and I am going to try and be better about notating them going forward. It certainly seems like I have enough going on to write about these days!

In fact, here are some more random pictures highlighting a pretty awesome four months. I can’t wait to see what else 2015 has in store for us!

Kicked off the year with FitNation's very first Super Saturday! It was amazing!

First race of the year and Kim's first race ever. This chick is super fast! She just started running at the first of the year and she finished this 2 miler with sub 10 minute miles.

Ashley and I celebrated her birthday with 6th row seats to The Lion King! It was a terrific show, but, I have to say, I'm more of a Wicked fan.

Next up on the race docket was the Shamrock Shuffle with my FitNation family. What a difference a year makes!

This girl is just downright amazing! I have no idea where I would be without her. I hope she's my coach forever!
